JAMES ALE - —is a free style impressionist creative artist, designer and writer. Born in Lagos State, Nigeria. He grew up in an art environment, inspired by his dad and uncle, both Professional Wood Carvers. He decided to further his education by studying Art & Design at Lagos State Polytechnic for his Ordinary National Diploma after which he pursued an Higher National Diploma in Textile Design at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos - Nigeria. Based on family wood carving tradition, his knowledge to manage space, materials and colors was broad by the assistance of his dad, this helped him further in the practice of art and design. His passion for painting grew very strong while studying textile design; as a result of falling in love with primary colors. He opined that the three major primary colors are natural colors and these colors are highly essential in paint related compositions. While undergoing art training in college, he also pickup teaching jobs in both Junior and Senior Secondary Schools in Lagos -State, Nigeria to afford and help pursue his art dream. After graduation, he served with the National youth Service Commission (NYSC) in Anambra State as an Art Teacher (Queens of the Rosary College, Onitsha); his involvement in art education and teaching further improved as a result of his love to impact the knowlegdge of art culture and tradition to youth of this generation. After his youth coup her travelled out of Nigeria in search of a greener pastures in West Africa countries. In 1999, as an art educator, he taught art major High Schools and Institutions in Nigeria, Gambia and other parts of West Africa. His experience as an art school teacher helped impact knowledge to younger generations that love art and are willing to explore the gift of art and design. In 2001, he was appointed to examine and grade art examination papers for West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) in Gambia. He also participated in series of African Painting Exhibitions and Art Exchange Programs with the involvement of several International artists from Europe, Nigeria, and Sene-Gambia. He presently live and work in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. His recent paintings were featured at the Ngr Youth Foundation Organisation Art Exhibition held at ALAN AVERY GALLERY & CO, Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia. Date: 23rd/24th April 2010.
